Roma Library During the past years IMF has
functioned as a well of information for the public whenever
they´ve needed information about gipsies. Researchers , students
, journalists , curious has all called or visited IMF with their
questions about gipsies. In 1998 IMF took the initiative to start
collecting all litterature about gipsies , childrens books , novels ,
education books , magazines , facts etc to create Europes first gipsy
library and gipsy informationcentre.
Besides the litterature the Roma Library
also offers gipsy films , ”Black Cat / White Cat” ,
”Time of the Gipsies” etc and also an enormous collection
of gipsy music from all over the world. Gipsy magazines with current
news , arrangements , festivals etc is also available in the Roma
Library. A great sound and picture archive with stories from our
elderly gipsies will be built inside the Roma Library so that the next
generations of gipsies and other nations can take part of their
incredible stories. The Roma Library will be opened for the public
first during 2001.
